It Feels Magical.
There’s no other way to describe how I feel when I’m making pictures at a wedding event. It’s less about me and more about being a vessel that connects a higher intelligence to my physical realm. Then magic happens. The ability and timing of capturing emotions and special moments simply flows. Sometimes it even moves for me in slow-motion, making it even easier for me to see and capture it. In some ways the process shares the same grace that is bringing into union the two people that I’m photographing.
The ability to show up in a state that allows this to happens comes with years of dedicated work, practice and self-development. I’m also fortunate in that I must somehow tap into the spirit of my hero photographers who lived before me, blessing me with a dollop of their talent and eye. My approach to wedding photography has become somewhat of a zen practice, and that is the foundation of how the magic unfolds.
